Synopsis
Key Questions
Exciting, systematic and rigorous, the Network will push forward theoretical understanding while simultaneously providing substantive evidence to help and inform practitioners, policy makers, and researchers in the field of gender equality. To achieve this, GeNet will address these and related questions:
• Why are changes in gender inequalities so much faster and more consistent in some spheres and social groups than in others?
• Why are new pay inequalities between women emerging and growing?
• Why, despite the many policy initiatives concerned with addressing inequality has the gender ‘wage gap’ proved so stubborn?
• Do childhood risks affect male and female lifecourses in similar ways?
• How do families trade-off the conflicts between time and money?
• Why do corporations differ in their willingness to embrace equity goals?
• How have work and care agendas changed over time among policy-makers in the UK and EU?
